"Even the longest journey starts with one small first step." Welcome the early works and first steps of ARB's music experience! It's been a long hard and exciting trip from the childhood days to the musician that I actually am these days.

It all began with a tiny demo-version of the very first edition of fruity loops. Just some lousy clips to fill with nothing but drumsounds. I was fascinated for weeks and "recorded" my first songs by adding and overdubbing the short drumloop sequences to each other with the (windows 3.1!) basic "audiorecorder" - what a pain in the ass working like that was! But I kept goin', this was a wonderful new world for me. I can create music? I love to create stuff and I just love music! I was addicted to creating and producing music til the present day.
After sucking up each and every article or program about music-production (there was no internet yet, by the way) stefan, a friend of mine showed me the "magix music maker" (first version) and again I was totally freaking out! What a huge improvement! At that days it never came into my mind that I was what you call a musician, I thought of myself as a guy that experiments with sounds - which I did, night and day.

Meanwhile the semi-professional homerecording programs where getting better and I had my own computer on which I started to collect my audioworks. I didn't want to write god songs, I often just wanted to capture the moment and the world and friends around me. So I started to record the blabbering of my friends and all kind of interesting sounds.

At the time I moved to Stuttgart to study design, I had collected so much "drunk party talk" vocal samples (funny stuff, sensless chitchat) from all kinds of friends that I decided to add them to short songs and create my first full album. Some weeks later I had a bunch of songs, that where sometimes more disturbing noise than what you call nice songs, kept togehter by funny samples from friends of my class back then. I had created my first album and once again captured an episode of my life for the future. When I listen to it now, I miss my old friends but I am glad that I kept them as audio remembrance!

I kept up that kind of work (recording friends, making little songs and putting them on an album) and became more progressive, more experimental and focused more on the songs than on just samples as you can hear on the

latest albums (lesser friendstalk, more instrumentals, finer producing). The more I grew up, the more I mixed several different styles and genres together. I am very proud of my latest albums, they really are art to me and captured an essential time of my youth.

When I started to make "real" music, by singing in an industrial-metal band (which was the only logical next step for an electronic artist loving to create strange sounds) I reduced my "amateur producing" work and focused on creating sounds and lyrics for my band. Sometimes I created music for homepages, art projects and friends (you can find that stuff here too!) but no more full length albums anymore.

Now that I am so much wiser and back again with my new project "Karma Kontrols Krysis" (you'll find the link below) I wanted to share all those works of my early music days on this site. Would be a shame to let them rot in their cd cases!

"And why Audiotheft youth?" you may ask. That's simple: At the trashy 90ies, the dj's had names like "Yves Deruyter" (did i spell it right? anyways...) and some other cool sounding fancy french names and since I didn't have the selfconfidence to call me a real musician, I had to be a dj. But without the vinyls and discos, more a name in the spirit of "Dj Bobo" (was he a real Dj?). So I came up with the ridiculous name "Dj Laurent O'Brion" (now I know it's all spelled wrong) - sounds like a french "Out of work pornstar" with ancestors from ireland! ^^ But hey, I was young and stupid, what can I do?!

Another thing: At that time I didn't know about the thing called copyright and stole every sound and sample that I found for my music. So I added "...and the stolen beat collective" to my own fancy french artist name. Of course I used samples from "Musik Maker" and "eJay" as I of course had no own synth or any hardware. Now I know about the code of honur of real musicans and create every sound, loop and beat all by myself, but those were my "early works" ages of my youth, so I just took everything sounding cool to me (that's why you can't download the stuff, I don't want to make money with this music or violate the copyright-laws even more (please no one sue me! I was young and stupid)) So that's why "Audiotheft" and "Youth".

But enough said, now go to the music section and enjoy the journey of my early days!

Yours truly, ARB in april 2008

You can't image how long it took me until this section worked properly! It took me over two weeks (at one point I had to start all over again ripping all the cds, ID-tagging (all songs!) and uploading them (nearly 500 MB!) after fixing all the links in the Xml file for the settings) and I nearly lost my freakin' mind!

But now, after all the blood, sweat and tears - everything is online and waiting for you to listen to it!

Just choose an album (click on the upper part of the player or directly on the arrow to open the album panel) and click play to listen to the first song or just choose a song by yourself. You can also keep this site open in the background (in an tab) and listen to the whole album by just letting this mp3-player work down the playlists (like the regular mp3-player on your desktop). Have fun!

Now... enjoy and maybe you drop me some lines in my guestbook!

You need to upgrade your Flash Player to version 9 or later. Believe me - it's worth it!

  +++ Latest News about all TAY projects +++

30.04.2008 || Some lost music added and an important public service announcement:

I found a complete (!) record two days ago on my backup-harddisk! Unbelievable, isn't it? Enjoy! Oh and by the way dudes:

When entering the player: first of all please note that the first album is also the oldest one! You find the latest albums (which of course are more professional) by scrolling DOWN the shit!

And never forget, some of my shit is pretty old - I was young and at the beginning of being a musician, so please excuse the sometimes "difficult" songs on the first albums!

20.04.2008 || Music finally online!

It took me 3 or 4 days to create this site and and over two weeks to put in the most important content: the music! But now, all done! The next step I have to take is: change the mp3-players autostart and fill in the rest of music I have on my backup disk. After that I will fill up the download section and create some merchandise for TAY. Oh yeah: ...and not to forget: I like the idea of a comeback album for 2008 more and more! :o)

31.03.2008 || Site online!

Ok then, site is online - but the most important thing is still missing. Where is the music dude? Well... I still have to rip it and build one of those flash xml mp3-players together, to let it rock and roll... Just be patient!

Like my work? Love a song? ...or just hate this site?! Well, leave me a message, after the beep!
